About US

Christian educators and supporters from across the province of Ontario are collaborating to create a dynamic new resource for students, teachers, schools, parents and administrators.

Nimbus provides a wide range of online educational solutions from a Christian worldview. With the assistance of Christian educators from across the country, including Canada’s largest online Christian school, Nimbus will develop and distribute curriculum, courses, resources and other e-learning tools to anyone learning or working in Christian education in Ontario, including students currently enrolled in a Christian school, teachers, parents, homeschoolers and more.

Its founders are dedicated to making Nimbus as inclusive, encompassing and wide-ranging as possible, while being faithful to a Christian worldview. Its vision is to impact as many students as possible – enabling excellent, dynamic, creative, collaborative, differentiated and godly learning to happen anywhere around the globe.

The online educational tools being developed and distributed are meant to support and enhance the learning that occurs in traditional classrooms even as those classrooms adapt to the changing opportunities of 21st century learning. Nimbus will also allow Christian educators to reach students outside the walls of bricks-and-mortar schools – offering accredited Ontario education to students anywhere on earth.

Nimbus was founded in January 2012. It is a non-profit charitable organization, incorporated in the province of Ontario. By establishing itself as a collaborative venture, Nimbus is able to harness the creative potential of many Christian educators and schools, enabling stewardly use of time and resources. Nimbus allows Christian educators, administrators and parents to do more together than they can do on their own.

At the same time, Nimbus recognizes that there are different emphases in Christian expression and practice, and it seeks to enable schools, teachers and parents to tailor the online tools to meet the needs of individual learners and their teachers.

In September of 2018 Nimbus began operating a private online school. Nimbus Christian Education has been assigned a BSID number by the Ministry and is listed as a private school on the Ministry website. It is operating under the number 884643. The school has been inspected by the Ministry of education and has the authority to grant credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

For God’s glory, we will be a place where:
  • Students engage in learning interwoven with Christ
  • Teachers and staff inspire and model character
  • Schools invite us to serve with them
  • Parents passionately share their story

Nimbus Christian Education is a response to God's call to raise up our children to know him anytime, any-pace, any-space, in every area of life.

  • We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, by which the Holy Spirit enlightens our understanding of God, ourselves, and the world
  • We believe in one God: creator of all, holy, and sovereign, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
  • We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, sinless life, bodily resurrection, substitutionary death, ascension, and His return; that He is Lord
  • We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who convinces of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; who regenerates, sanctifies, illuminates, comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ, and empowers His people individually and together to fulfill the gospel
  • We believe that the world, in its origin, gracious preservation and ultimate restoration, is the work of the Triune God
  • We believe that all people have been created by God in His image with special gifts and responsibility to be stewards of His creation according to God's will
  • We believe that salvation is by the sovereign grace of God; that by the appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered and died, paying the penalty for our sins; that justification is by faith alone in the sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
  • We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ in which His followers will experience a bodily resurrection and the eternal life blessedness of the saved.

  • We believe that the purpose of Christian education is to work in partnership with home and church in guiding the child to commit his/her heart to Jesus Christ and to see all of life—physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, both in and out of school— from God’s point of view as revealed in the Word of God.

  • We believe the school is an educational institution established and directed by an association of Christian believers; therefore, the educational principles must be distinctively Biblical in emphasis and character. The school possesses the freedom to function in education in total and voluntary submission to Christ and is not subject to any church organization.

  • We believe that life should be an inner attitude and outward demonstration of total commitment to God. Such a Spirit filled life is characterized by loving God and your neighbours with all your heart. We believe that God created man to serve Him totally, and requires us to educate our children for His service.

  • We believe that God in His infinite wisdom has given parents the prime responsibility to teach their children to know and love the Lord in all righteousness, nurture, train, and educate their children to reach their gifts and calling in God.

  • We believe that the child, entrusted by God to parents, needs structure, instruction and correction. Children of the Christian home are a heritage of the Lord and share in the promises and the demands of Christ’s covenant with His people, hence, they ought to receive Christian education.

  • We believe that the teacher is responsible to God and also to the parents, through the board, for the performance of his/her office of educating the child in the school. As a servant to the students, the teacher is accountable to be an example of mature Christian behaviour.

  • We believe that based on love as defined in the Bible, and because of the unique nature of a non-denominational school, that harmony and unity are fundamental to the goals of the school.
